Pilot Project of Arbitration Law Commences in CG

CHHATTISGARH: Under the initiative of the Supreme Court, a pilot project of arbitration law started in Chhattisgarh from Monday (January 16). Trained judicial officers and advocates were handed over files. In the first phase, this law will be implemented in 18 dricts of Chhattisgarh.
With theimplementation of this law, the number of pending cases will be reduced, along with the time taken in hearing, expenses will also be saved.
Around six experts from Prayagraj, Delhi and Jharkhand trained 40 selected advocates of the state, six ADJs have also been given 40-hour residential training through the State Legal Services Authority on how to reach a settlement between the two parties through the Mediation Act.
Injunction Cases, Family Laws, Motor Accidents, Landlord & Tenant, Civil Recovery, Commercial Disputes, Consumer Laws, Financial & Transaction, All Compoundable Offences, Section 498A IPC, 138 Negotiable Instrument Act (Cheque Bounce) related) matters will be resolved in it.
At present 89 thousand 132 cases are pending in Chhattisgarh High Court. More than four and a half lakh cases are pending in the drict courts of the state. These include 42 lakh 86 thousand 933 civil cases and 16 lakh 76 thousand 915 criminal cases.
