Bag that’s smaller than a grain of rice sells for ₹51 lakh | Trending

Remember the bag created an art that is smaller than a grain of rice? Well, the ‘Louis Vuitton’ bag just got sold in an auction and reportedly for over $63,000, approximately ₹51 lakh. The image shows the minuscule handbag that was sold for over ₹51 lakh. (Instagram/@mschf) Who created the miniscule bag?The bag first created waves when its pictures were shared on Instagram MSCHF, a Brooklyn-based art and advertising collective. “Microscopic Handbag MSCHF. Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it. There are big handbags, normal handbags, and small handbags, but this is the final word in bag miniaturization. As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier,” they wrote as they shared a series of pictures. About the auctionThe fluorescent yellowish-green minuscule handbag was sold on June 27 in an auction hosted Joopiter, an online auction house. They also shared details about the bag on their website and wrote that it got sold for exactly $63,750. They also added a few lines to describe the product. “Microscopic (657x222x700μm) tote bag created using 2-photon polymerization printing methods. The bag is viewable through a microscope, which also features a built-in digital display,” they explained. Here are some of the images of the handbag: “Previous small leather handbags have still required a hand to carry them — they become dysfunctional, inconveniences to their ‘wearer,’” explained a part of a statement shared MSCHF about the handbag, reports CNN. “‘Microscopic Handbag’ takes this to its full logical conclusion. A practical object is boiled down into jewelry, all of its putative function evaporated; for luxury objects, usability is the angels’ share,” the statement added.
