— Bhupesh Baghel (@bhupeshbaghel) June 8, 2022

Apart from these the state government also releases Rs 9,000 per hectare as input subsidy. For the ongoing sowing season, the state agriculture department has decided to sow around 48 lakh hectares of Kharif crops. Out of this 33.64 lakh, hectares would be only paddy while the remaining would be corn, Kudo-Kutki, ragi, pulses, and several more.

The price was tweaked in favour of coarse cereals and pulses in terms of the percentage of return to farmers over their cost of production.

Under new MSPs, the expected returns to the farmers over their cost of production are estimated to be highest in case of Bajra followed Urad, Tur and Maize.
