Chief Minister pays tribute to Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla and Shaheed Vidyacharan Shukla on their birth anniversary

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel paid homage to the first Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh, Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla and former Union Minister Shaheed Vidya Charan Shukla on their birth anniversary by paying floral tributes at his residence office here today.
Recalling the contribution of Pandit Shukla to Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that he played a leading role in the national movements of the Indian freedom struggle. He did an important work of bringing public awareness for the independence of the country in Chhattisgarh. Shri Baghel said that Ravi Shankar ji was a good lawyer, politician as well as a good speaker and writer. He made a significant contribution to the merger of princely states after independence.

He is also called the builder of modern Madhya Pradesh. The Chhattisgarh government has instituted the Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla Samman for his innovative efforts in the social, economic and educational fields in his memory. His teachings as a leader will always show us the way. The efforts of Ravi Shankar ji for the progress of Chhattisgarh and maintaining social harmony here will be remembered forever.
Remembering Shri Vidyacharan Shukla, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Vidyacharan ji is known as an efficient politician and administrator. He represented Chhattisgarh for many years as a Union Minister. As a Minister to the Government of India, he held important responsibilities in the Ministries of Communications, Home, Defence, Finance, Planning, External Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs.
As a Union Minister, Vidyacharan ji paved the way for the development of Chhattisgarh along with the country. Chhattisgarh will never forget the martyrdom of Vidya Charan ji in the Jhiram Valley Naxalite attack. His contribution to Chhattisgarh will always be remembered.
