Decentralize cultural events to divisional HQs: Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday stressed the need to decentralize cultural events of folk traditions to divisional headquarters across Chhattisgarh. These programmes should not be confined to Raipur, he said.
Addressing a meeting of the Chhattisgarh Culture Council, Baghel also told officials to organize cultural events based on the works and personality of Mahatma Gandhi at all the divisional headquarters.
A fund of Rs 4.93 crore was approved by him for various programmes of the Council.
The Chief Minister also called for opening a music and dance college at Raigarh and get it affiliated to the Indira Kala Evam Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya at Khairagarh.
Baghel underlined the need to associate bell metal and dhokra craft with household utility. The artifacts of daily use must be crafted to create a market across the state.
