Baghel Inaugurates Jhiram Ghati Valley Memorial

CM Baghel inaugurates Jhiram Ghati Memorial in Jagdalpur.Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi pays tribute. 27 persons including top brass of Chhattisgarh Congress leaders were killed on May 25, 2013 Naxal attack.

On the occasion of the anniversary of Jhiram Ghati valley, CM Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Jhiram Ghati Martyrs Memorial in Jagdalpur. Baghel paid tribute to the 31 Martyrs of the incident.

Former Congress National president and MP Rahul Gandhi also paid tributes to deceased martyrs. Taking to Twitter Gandhi said- “We lost many of our Congress comrades and Jawans in the Naxalite attack in Jhiram Valley in 2013. We salute the valour of our patriotic comrades, we can never forget their martyrdom”.

A division bench headed Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami May 11 stayed the proceedings of the reconstituted commission. It had served notices to the state government and the commission seeking a reply July 4. The court also fixed the next date of hearing in the case for July 4, 2022.

In the dreadful Mao ambush on May 25, 2013, at Jhirum valley under Darbha police station limits on the Sukma-Jagdalpur highway 27 persons including top brass of Chhattisgarh Congress leaders Bastar tiger Mahendra Karma, then Congress State President Nandkumar Patel, his son Dinesh Patel, ex-central Miner Vidya Charan Shukla, Uday Mudaliar, and others were killed.
