Chance to local next time: CM
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday admitted that people were expecting a candidate from Chhattisgarh too in the Rajya Sabha elections but said that locals will get a chance next time.
Reacting to the BJP’s allegations over fielding two outsiders for the Rajya Sabha seats from Chhattisgarh, Baghel said the BJP’s approach on the issue was questionable.
Citing some examples of who the BJP had fielded from which state, he said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was sent to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
In the Rajya Sabha, every party has sent candidates from other states. The Congress is a national party, so it can also do that, he added.
