Chief Minister appealed to the farmer brothers to get insurance of their Kharif and Horticulture crops

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has appealed to all the farmer brothers of the state to get insurance for their Kharif and Horticulture crops. The Chief Minister has said in his appeal issued in the name of farmer brothers,
In order to maintain the income of farmers even in the event of weather uncertainty and local natural calamity, it is necessary to insure the crops. The facility of crop insurance is being provided to the farmer brothers by the government on premium amount.
For insurance of Kharif crops, farmer brothers have to pay 2 percent of the premium amount and for insurance of horticulture crops, 5 percent of the premium amount has to be contributed as contribution.
Farmer brothers can avoid big risks by insuring their crops by depositing a little interest and a small amount. Crop loss due to natural calamity and uncertainty of weather, shortfall in production is compensated by insurance claim amount. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers will be able to insure paddy, irrigated and unirrigated, tur, moong, urad, maize and horticulture crops till July 15.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that making agriculture prosperous and making farmers happy is the top priority of the Chhattisgarh government. Farmer friendly policies and schemes of Chhattisgarh government are being appreciated across the country. Chhattisgarh is being recognized as an agricultural model state. Chhattisgarh is the leading state in the country in terms of helping farmers, getting them their due.
Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, which has first paid the crop insurance claim amount for the Rabi season 2021-22 to its farmers. Even before the start of Kharif season, we have paid claim amount of Rs.304 crore 38 lakh to more than 1.5 lakh farmers in lieu of premium paid by them. In Kharif season 2021, Rs 758 crore 43 lakh has been paid in lieu of farmer premium amount paid by more than 4 lakh farmers of the state.
Farmer brothers should take advantage of the facilities being provided under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Weather Based Horticulture Crop Insurance Scheme and to avoid risks, crops should be insured compulsorily.
