CM remembers Dau Mandraji
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday paid floral tributes to the founder of ‘Nacha’ folk art, the late Dau Dular Singh ‘Mandraji,’ in Janjgir Champa district to mark his birth anniversary.
Recalling the invaluable contribution of Dauji in preserving the Chhattisgarhi folk art, Baghel said he devoted his entire life to revive and preserve ‘Nacha’. He made dance a medium to raise public awareness regarding social evils.
Baghel said that Dauji played an important role in bringing together folk artists and in establishing Chhattisgarhi folk dance ‘gammat’ on a global platform.
The state government gives Dau Dular Singh Mandraji Award for exemplary contribution in the field of art, he said.
