Fake Medicines Worth Rs 10 Crore Seized from Drug Factory

RAIPUR: In A big move on Thursday, the Food and Drug Adminration Department raided a fake drug factory in Raipur. According to officials in the know, Bajrang Aushadi Bhandar located in Gitanjali Nagar was making fake drugs under the tag Ayurvedic medicinal manufacturer.
Over 4 shops across the capital were raided and medicines worth Rs 10 crore were seized. From Bajrang Aushadi Bhandar about 12.66 lakh tablets were worth Rs 2 crore were seized. Fake drugs from other warehouses including Yashika Trading and Marketing Private Limited in the same area and warehouse in Birgaon were also sezied. Apart from these drugs worth Rs 5 crore were sezied from Sharda Medical Store in Simga.
The seized medicines have been forwarded to the Government Drug Testing Laboratory for examination. Investigations revealed that diclofenic and aclofenic content were found in allopathic medicines.  The raid came on the heels of a complaint filed that mentioned adulteration.
