Heading towards third wave of Covid, warns CM
Chhattisgarh is “certainly heading” towards the third wave of Covid-19, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel warned on Monday, as he urged people to abide by the Covid Appropriate Behaviour to prevent its spread.
Chhattisgarh has reported a surge in Covid-19 positive cases within a week, raising concern. The Chief Minister on Monday held a high-level emergency meeting with cabinet Ministers and senior officials, an official communication said.
“We are certainly heading towards the third wave of coronavirus. The number of cases is on the rise. The situation can be controlled only by early testing and immediate treatment. Besides, it is the need of hour to avoid mass events and gatherings,” said Baghel.
Making an appeal to the people, he said everyone needed to strictly adhere to all the precautions to check the coronavirus.
Everyone must mandatorily wear a face mask when stepping out of their home, avoid crowded places and also practice social and physical distance.
The Chief Minister called all the districts to take proactive steps mainly on screening, increasing Covid tests and maintaining health data.
The RT-PCR testing at airports will be done.
