Team India is intensifying its practice ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will be held in Sri Lanka.

Kl Rahul seems to be inching closer to full fitness and was spotted doing his wicket-keeping drills. Earlier, on Day 1 of the camp, Rahul batted for more than an hour but did not participate in keeping drills. However, BCCI revealed on Tuesday, that while Rahul is progressing well, he will not be available for India’s first two matches in Asia Cup 2023 – against Pakan and Nepal.

Jasprit Bumrah, who also made a return to the India set-up after 11 months during the Ireland series, bowled at full throttle to Shubman Gill.
Mohammed Siraj had an engaging battle with Virat Kohli with some short-pitched stuff, but the former RCB skipper did not back down from the challenge and whacked him away over the on-side.

Mohammed Shami also marked his return to the Indian squad for the first time since a dismal outing in the World Test Championship final while Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav also had their fair share of practice.
The continental tournament shall be one of India’s last set of games ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India starting October. The men in blue begin their group stage campaign in the six-team competition starting September 2 in the high voltage clash against Pakan in Pallekele.
