Kondagaon Police Arrests Inter-State Gang Stealing Tower Batteries

Kondagaon: The Kondagaon police in Chhattisgarh have arrested an inter-state gang of thieves who were stealing tower batteries from several dricts in the state. The gang was led one Suresh Yadav, who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
The police said that the gang had been active for the past few months and had stolen batteries from towers in Kondagaon, Bastar, and Bijapur dricts. The batteries are used to power the towers, which provide cellular and internet connectivity to rural areas.
In a major action, the police seized 32 tower batteries and 2 Scorpion vehicles along with property worth Rs. 58,57,000. While 7 accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh, 1 resided in Kondagaon.
The police said that the gang would target towers that were located in remote areas. They would cut the locks and steal the batteries, which they would then sell to scrap dealers.
The police said that they had recovered 12 stolen batteries from the gang. They are also investigating the possibility that the gang may have been involved in other thefts in the state.
The arrest of the gang is a major breakthrough for the police. It has also raised concerns about the security of towers in the state. The police have said that they will be increasing security measures at Geotowers to prevent future thefts.
The theft of tower batteries is a serious issue, as it can disrupt cellular and internet connectivity in rural areas. The police have urged people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
