Literature and Other Essentials Recovered in Search Launched Post Encounter

GARIABAND: An encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites on the Odisha border adjoining Gariaband in Chhattisgarh. Acting on a tip-off, personnel from the SOG (Special Operation Group) and CRPF 216 Battalion launched an operation in the Tarajhar forest of Odisha three days ago to bring down Naxals.
SP Nuvapara, Odisha confirmed about the encounter in a press briefing.
After facing heavy loss due to the firing security forces, the Naxals fled the spot. Shortly after the naxals retreat, the security forces launched a search operation during which they recovered shreds of literature, uniforms, medicines and other essentials that the naxals maintained in their camp.
