Mati Pujan Diwas observed, Kharif work starts
Mati Pujan Diwas’ was observed across Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya on Tuesday. It also marked the start of farming work for the upcoming Kharif crop season.
At a state-level event here in which the Chief Minister administered the oath to embrace organic farming, the ‘Mati Pujan Diwas’ programmes were organized in all the Gram, Janpad and District Panchayats across Chhattisgarh.
At their respective areas, public representatives like the Ministers in-charge of districts, legislators and representatives of three-tier Panchayats read out Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s message.
They also administered oath to the villagers to protect ‘Mother Earth’ by not using chemical fertilizers in their fields and prefer organic manure made up of cow dung.
