NBA star Trae Young shows up to a game with Lionel Messi’s Argentina jersey
A day prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, NBA player Trae Young tweeted that he wanted a “Lionel Messi jersey.”
It seems like the Atlanta Hawks star has had his wish granted after he showed up to the match he played on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs wearing the “10” Argentine team shirt.
And there is an important detail: this is the new one, with a third star embroidered on the shield after the albiceleste won their third World Cup in December.

Before the final, Young expressed his wish on Twitter. He wrote: “I need a Messi shirt!”, clarifying who he was going to support in the title match between Argentina and France.

However, Trae Young failed to inspire Atlanta Hawks as they went down 126-118 against San Antonio Spurs.
Atlanta had won three straight in San Antonio. The Hawks last loss in San Antonio was 117-111 on April 2, 2019.
