No Relief for Suspended IPS Officer GP Singh

Raipur sessions court extended judicial custody to February 28th.Suspended officer permitted to meet family.ADG GP Singh was detained on January 11th EOW officials.

Raipur: The Raipur Sessions court hearing suspended IPS officer GP Singh’s bail plea today extended the judicial custody until February 28th. Special Judge Leena Agarwal heard the matter today. On the application of GP Singh’s lawyer, the judge has given permission for family members to meet the IPS officer along with them the court has allotted a senior doctor for the officer.
Officials of the EOW detained suspended Additional Director General (ADG) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Gurjinder Pal Singh, from Gurugram, Haryana on January 11th. The SC had earlier rejected to hear his case and so was produced before a court on Wednesday, 12 January. The suspended ADG GP Singh is not cooperating in the investigation, not even responding to the notices served the Department, EOW officials said.
The fugitive officer was detained in July last year after the EOW and ACB raided his residence. It is claimed that the senior officer held disproportionate assets and was also involved in money laundering.
