Raipur Municipal Corporation Fines Shopkeepers for Littering

Trade license to be seized on violation of cleanliness norms.Raipur Municipal Corporation has initiated a drive to keep the city clean.Municipal officials deployed in 60 market areas and 10 zones.

Raipur: The Raipur Municipal corporation has announced to cancel the trading license of individuals and owners of commercial establishments for littering public places. The offences also included dumping garbage on the road and littering unoccupied public spaces. Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar added that a fine of a dedicated amount will also be levied along with the seizure of the license.

Sources from the Raipur Municipal corporation said that the corporation has decided to take strict action against offenders and will seal shops if owners fail to abide the norms. Persent resance to follow the rules would lead to seizure of trading licence, it said.

The Raipur Municipal corporation has begun to clean the city last night. Under the supervision of Prabhat Mali, Corporation Commissioner, Additional Commissioner Sunil Chandravanshi, and Health Officer Vijay Pandey officials have been deployed to gather the waste. A blueprint has been prepared for 60 market areas and 10 zones which are all under strict scrutiny the supervisors, zone health officers and sub engineers.
