Rescue Ops Underway to Save 11Year Boy Stuck in Borewell
Rescue operations underway in Jangjir-Champa.NDRF and SDRF teams deployed.A 11 year old boy fell in a 80 feet deep abandoned borewell on Thursday.
Janjgir-Champa: Rescue operations are under way to save a ten-year-old Rahul who fell into an 80-feet deep abandoned borewell in a small village of Janjgir Champa drict of Chhattisgarh, since Friday night.
Expressing concerns, chief miner Bhupesh Baghel on Friday night tweeted, “I got information that the NDRF team from Odisha has arrived village Pihrid-Malkharoda village and the rescue operation is under the monitoring of an expert Mohanty ji. Collective efforts are underway to save the child and senior adminrative officers are present on the spot. We are all keeping an eye on the updates.”
Teams of NDRF and SDRF have been digging up the area since eight hours now. A team of doctors is also deployed who are providing medical support to the boy. As per sources the, Rahul is not responding now, it is being speculated that he has fallen asleep.
The child, Rahul Sahu, fell into the abandoned borewell located in the backyard of his house in Pihrid village, in Malkharoda development block, around 2 pm on Thursday, Janjgir-Champa superintendent of police Vijay Agrawal said.
It is being learnt that the borewell, which is around 80-feet deep, was dug earlier in the vegetable garden in the backyard and when no water was found, it was left unused and uncovered.
