Reward Carrying Chhattisgarh Naxal Surrenders

Two naxals from CG and Maharashtra surrender before security forces.The naxal carried a reward of Rs 6 lakh collectively.The naxals cited unfairness, lack of security to women and lack of medical attention as few reasons for their surrender.

Nagpur: Two reward-carrying Naxals surrendered in Chhattisgarh before the security forces, Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal said here on Wednesday.

The surrendered Maos identified as Anil alias Ramsay Jagdeo Kujur, 26 of Maharashtra and a woman Roshani alias Irape Narango Paollo, 30, of Chhattisgarh collectively carried a reward of Rs 6 lakh, the officials added.

Roshani,the woman naxal from CG carried a bounty of Rs 2 lakh. She is reporeted to have joined the Maos organization in 2009 and was serving as a militia since 2019. She was wanted for killing three civilians in Gadchiroli in 2015 and was involved in the 2015 and 2017 forest encounters in Mauja Kundala and Mauja Durwada (both Chhattisgarh).

Anil of Maharashtra who carried a reward of Rs 4 lakh is said to have joined a Kasansur group in December 2009 and then worked with various other Mao dalams and was currently, working as a militia for 10 years.

The duo cited the money extortion, lack of medical attention, nomadic lifestyle, ordered killings of tribals on mere suspicion, and lack of women security as their reasons to surrender. The lady added that they were forced to marry seniors and were made scapegoats during encounters.

The state and central govt both have promised to give them the assance of Rs 500,000 for rehabilitation and also ass them to get back into the society and national mainstream.
