Ser, I request you with folded hands not to weaken our movement: Vinesh Phogat to Babita Phogat
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat who has been protesting against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment, lashed into her cousin ser Babita Phogat asking her to ‘not weaken their movement.’
“If you cannot stand for the rights of the aggrieved female wrestlers, then Babita ser, I request you with folded hands not to weaken our movement. It’s taken years for female wrestlers to speak up against their abusers. You are also a woman, try to understand our pain,” Vinesh tweeted.
Babita had earlier tweeted about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who visited Jantar Mantar to meet the protesting wrestlers. “Priyanka Vadra has reached Jantar Mantar with her personal secretary Sandeep Singh to seek justice for women wrestlers, but this person himself has been accused of molesting women and insulting a Dalit woman,” Babita said in her social media platform.

The wrestlers have been protesting since Sunday, demanding the removal and criminal action against Brij Bhushan over alleged sexual exploitation and harassment as president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

The Delhi Police on Friday had regered two FIRs, one under the stringent POCSO Act and another related to outraging the modesty of a woman, naming WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh following allegations of sexual harassment against him women wrestlers.
