Watch: Manchester United’s Andre Onana concedes outrageous chip shot goal vs Lens | Football News
Manchester United’s new goalkeeper Andre Onana was in for a rude awakening while playing his first home match against French club Lens on Saturday.
In the 27th minute, Florian Sotoca took advantage of a misplaced pass Diogo Dalot and tried a chip shot from near the centre circle. The 27-year-old Onana who was positioned a bit far away from his goal had to backtrack but could not make a save as he helplessly saw the ball going inside the net.
This was a few minutes after United’s midfielder Mason Mount had failed to put the Red Devils ahead when he fluffed a chance to score in an open goal.

United would ultimately put 3 past Lens as they walked away with a 3-1 victory.
Meanwhile, the English club on Saturday signed Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta on a five-year contract until 2028, the Premier League club said on Saturday.
He has been in fine form for Denmark this year, scoring six goals in four appearances for the national team.
United needed a striker having spent the latter half of last season with Wout Weghorst often leading the line, with the Dutchman scoring just two goals in 31 games in all competitions.
United finished third last season, securing a spot in the Champions League. They also won the League Cup in February.
