It’s safe to say, the new Barbie movie is everywhere. The press for the new Greta Gerwig flick has broken box office records. On Wednesday, the men’s Ashes series joined the bandwagon as England’s premium pacer Mark Wood decided to take over the microphone during captain Ben Stokes’ pre-match presser.
In a new video from England Cricket, Stokes – seated at the press conference room in The Oval- can be seen all smiles with the Barbie Girl song Aqua plays on the microphone. ‘Woody?’ says the England skipper, as the camera pans to the pacer smiling behind.

England are set to face Australia for the fifth and final Test of the ongoing series, with the visitors leading 2-1 after the fourth Test in Manchester last week was washed out and convened as a draw with Australia having retained the Ashes.
The hosts had pulled one back in the series in Leeds, courtesy of a player of the match winning performance from Wood, who nabbed seven wickets and scored 40 crucial runs across the two innings.
Earlier, the reigning World Test champions Australia had bested England at Edgbaston (two wickets) and Lord’s (43 runs) to gain a 2-0 advantage in the series.
“Our preference is to come over here and win the Ashes. Not the greatest of circumstances but happy to retain it now. What happened today doesn’t really change how we look at the next game. It’s been an amazing group, we all turned up here very motivated. Will be a special week at The Oval,” Australia skipper Pat Cummins had said at the end of the Manchester Test.
