Watch: Sediqullah Atal scores 48 runs in an over with 7 sixes in Kabul Premier League | Cricket News

Sediqullah Atal wrote his name in the record books when he blasted 7 sixes in an over in a Kabul Premier League cricket match.
The over which was bowled Amir Zazai went for 48 runs as the batter hit a six off a no-ball from the first ball before the bowler gave away five wides off the next ball. The next six deliveries were all sent out of the park the batter.
The incident happened in a match between Atal’s Shaheen Hunters and Zazai’s Abasin Defenders. Batting first, the Hunters posted 213 for six in 20 overs, courtesy of Atal’s 56-ball 118 innings which consed of 7 fours and 10 sixes. In reply, the Defenders could only score 121 in 18.3 overs.
The innings might remind one of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s blering knock in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals back in 2022 where he had also smacked 7 sixes off an over.
Gaikwad’s explosive hitting occurred in the 49th over of Maharshatra’s batting innings when he took the attack to the Uttar Pradesh left-arm spinner Shiva Singh and scored 43 runs off the over.
The first ball was a low full-toss and Gaikwad smoked it over deep midwicket for the first six.
The second one was hit straight down the ground, while he cleared deep square leg for his third maximum. The fourth delivery was tonked over long-off, the fifth, a no ball, was played almost in the same direction, and the batter took full advantage of the free hit hammering it over long-on and reach his double century.
The seventh and final ball was smashed over deep midwicket.
Gaikwad scored 220 runs from 159 balls which included 10 fours and 16 sixes.
