Winds of change can be felt in Bastar: CM

The demands raised by the people of Bastar division gives the real sense of the changes that are happening including that the once Maoist hub is returning to normalcy, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday at Tatamari (Kondagaon).

Just before winding up his second leg of direct interaction campaign with people (Bhent-Mulaqat), Baghel told the media that people earlier used to be scared to speak but now they openly register their problems with a sense of hope.

He said the demand for opening banks, schools and other civic amenities shows that Bastar is slowly on the path of attaining peace. Parents are demanding to shift schools existing on main roads.

The hunger for Swami Atmanand English Medium School is on the upswing, he said.

Appreciating the work of public representatives, officials and employees, he said they are working with the aim to restore peace and expedite development.

The tourist footfall is increasing in Bastar. The government is working to conserve and promote traditional tribal culture including tourism.

There exists a demand for reforms in the settlement in forest areas. Using drones, the survey will be conducted to correct errors in revenue records. Abujhmad is spread over four districts. The survey is in progress.

Transport facility has begun from Dantewada. Operation of school, Anganwadi and health centres have started even in remote forest areas. Land title deeds have been distributed to many people in Narayanpur (district), he added
